I guess I’m a little late on all of this, but I’ve spent my time thinking. Some of you have already heard me say this but I’ll say it anyway.
“It reminds me of when Mr. Bear died” said many people referring to school yesterday. It was silent, except for the chilling cries of those who knew her best. Just like when the same thing happened to him. Some people die as a normal part of life. They come and they go, sure the family is always sad but when some people die, it is different. It causes a wide spread effect where everyone stops. This happens for a reason. These people don’t die by chance. They were chosen. And it’s always some of the best people.
Someone needed what happened to Mr. Bear to happen. Of course, God knew this. He knew what was needed and He chose someone who was ready to take that spot. Time went on as the effect of his death continued, but someone needed something again. God saw the situation and chose the best thing to do. He chose someone who was ready, and she took the job. It is a comfort to think that for whatever reason, she was chosen because she was ready, just like Mr. Bear.
Some people comment at a time like this on how much a person missed, but really, she missed nothing at all. She fulfilled her purpose, she completed God’s will for her. That is more than any of us can say. How great it must be to be great enough to be chosen by God for such a purpose as this. She was one of those people “Of whom the world was not worthy.” (Heb. 11)
It was so perfectly laid out. The cars, the truck, the time, the speed, everything, for no one else to be really hurt and for that to happen to Mary Helen. It cannot be merely chance, it was set up. Her death has a purpose. And as Marcy Owens said “God must have great plans for Grace for her to come through like that.” And we all know He does.
She has stepped out of time, she understands the things now that mankind has questioned for thousands of years. She knows what’s to come, she knows what it looks and feels like. She is far beyond us or our understanding. And I say all of this like we’ll never see her again. So, who else here can be chosen? Or will you let chance take you. |
